  Minneapolis Ice Dance Weekend
July 19 - 21, 2024
Eden Prairie Community Center, Eden Prairie, MN

"Yee Haw!" Join us for a weekend of ice dancing, socializing and fun with a Western flair!

This year's ice dance weekend theme is "Hickory Hoedown" at the Eden Prairie Community Center (EPCC). Skaters and their guests are encouraged to wear Western attire, especially on Friday evening. In keeping with the Wild West theme, there will be a special BBQ dinner in the EPCC Cambria Room following Friday night's last skating session. Music performed by Music on a Stick, a local clarinet trio, will serenade skaters and their guests.

As always, skating is the primary focus of the weekend, with eight hours of ice time. We will feature Preliminary through Gold level dances plus social dances, such as the Riverside Rhumba and Golden Skaters’ Waltz. There will be fun mixers – including the ever-popular Grand March – to keep everyone moving. Professional coach Laurie Benson will teach the mid-level ice dance clinic on Saturday morning.

All attendees will enjoy delicious, catered food served at all rink meals. There will be light breakfast snacks on Sunday morning as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Snack tables are available throughout the weekend.

On Saturday evening, people can enjoy off-ice time, relax and socialize by dining at nearby Redstone American Grill in a private room, and on an outdoor patio overlooking a scenic pond. Carpools can be arranged.

CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY NOTICE:  Please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne, as these don’t help you skate better and can distract your partner.  They also cause serious health problems for some of your fellow skaters.

Thank you in advance!

Important note: There is no COVID vaccination requirement to participate at Ice Dance Weekend. However, it is strongly recommended that people take a rapid antigen COVID test on the day before you plan to attend the event. If your test is positive, you must not take part in Ice Dance Weekend, and you will be issued a full refund.
